Rural infrastructure development project in Central Highlands

VGP – The Government of Viet Nam has decided to talk with the Asian Development Bank about the Productive Rural Development Project in the Central Highlands.

Negotiations are expected to begin in Ha Noi in June this year.

Vietnamese delegation will be headed by a representative of the State Bank of Viet Nam.

The proposed project aims to rehabilitate and upgrade existing but deteriorated productive rural infrastructure (PRI) in five central highland provinces of Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dac Lak, Dac Nong and Lam Dong over a period of seven years.

The Project would focus on sustainably improving approximately 30 medium scale irrigation systems, and associated PRI including: rural access infrastructure; and, local markets.
