Supports for resident evacuation
VGP – The PM has agreed to put aside VND 239 billion (US$ 12.58 million) from the state budget to support 24 localities in evacuating residents in areas vulnerable to natural calamity, severe floods, and landslides in 2014.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) will inform financial assistance levels to each locality.
The PM asked the relevant localities to balance their budgets and seek other sources of capital to realise the effort.
The Ministry of Finance was asked to work with the MoPI in recovering advance capital.
Statistics showed that since 2000, Viet Nam suffered heavy human and economic damage caused by 250 severe floods and landslides.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, 45 projects targeting to evacuate 7,077 households with over 33,000 residents in vulnerable areas in 24 poor provinces sought State budget./.
