The two PMs expressed their pressure at the development in the neighbouring relations and strategic partnership and the effective implementation of the Viet Nam-Thailand Strategic Partnership in the 2014-2018 period and the third Viet Nam-Thailand Joint Cabinet Retreat (July 2015).

PM Dung praised the close supervision of his Thai counterpart Prayuth Chan-ocha on labour cooperation between the two sides and Thailand’s official provision of work permits for Vietnamese guest workers from December 1-30, 2015.

Mr. Dung also proposed the two countries effectively realize the Memorandum of Understanding on Labour Cooperation and the Agreement on Labour Recruitment which were inked in July, 2015.

The Vietnamese Government leader suggested Thailand work closely with Viet Nam to resolve the issue of Vietnamese fishermen and vessels with respect for humanitarian treatment, friendship, and the strategic partnership between the two countries.

For his part, PM Prayuth Chan-ocha agreed to step up cooperative ties especially in the areas of economics, trade, investment, and focus on solutions to top issues like labour, fishing, and agriculture.  

The two PMs also pledged to enhance solidarity and uphold ASEAN’s central role in resolving regional peace, security and development issues./.
