VN, UAE agree to develop good relationship to a new height

VGP – As the main activity in his tour to UAE, Vietnamese PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng held talks with the host Vice President, PM Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum this afternoon.

The two leaders informed each other socio-economic situations in their respective countries. They spent a lot of time for discussions on specific orientations and measures to further foster friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Việt Nam and UAE in the time to come.

PM Dũng reconfirmed Việt Nam’s consistent diplomatic policy to attach importance to bilateral ties with UAE and consider the Persian Gulf country an important partner.

Việt Nam welcomes initiatives raised by UAE to expand bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit, said the Vietnamese PM.

The two PMs showed their satisfaction at the vigorous development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, affirming their determination to further cement and deepen their good ties at a new height in the 21 st century.

The two sides reached consensus on orientations and solutions to consolidate and broaden their long-term and stable cooperation in various fields, such as investment, finance, energy, trade, labor and agriculture commensurate to their respective strengths and conditions.

Both the host and the guest highly appreciated the signing of Agreements on investment encouragement and protection, on avoidance of double taxation, on establishing the inter-governmental committee, on labor cooperation, on cooperation among the two foreign ministries and between the Việt Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Abu Dahbi Chamber of Commerce and Industry which are the solid legal foundation for bilateral ties.

The two PMs pledged to urge their ministries to engage in negotiations for agreements on visa exemption, on tourist cooperation, and on tertiary education and scientific research.

They agreed that PM Dũng’s visit is a breakthrough marking the entry of the bilateral relationship into a new stage of stability and effectiveness, for the sake of the two nations.

PM Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum revealed that his government will dispatch a high-ranking delegation, headed by a Deputy PM, to Việt Nam to put the bilateral agreements into reality.

After their talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation agreements, including:

1. Governmental agreement on avoidance of double taxation

2. Governmental agreement on investment encouragement and protection

3. Agreement on the founding of an inter-governmental committee for cooperation

4. Governmental memorandum of understanding on human resource cooperation

5. Protocol on cooperation between the two foreign ministries.
