VN cancels IPEZs licensing
VGP – The Prime Minister has requested local authorities to suspend the licensing for new industrial, export-processing and economic zones (IPEZs) nationwide.

Under the PM’s new instruction, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) will work with relevant ministries and agencies to review mechanisms and policies for developing IPEZs in order to draft amendments to Decree 29/2008/NĐ-CP on regulations of IPEZs.
The draft amendments would be submitted them to the PM by Q3 of this year.
The MPI is in charge of working with ministries, agencies and localities to assess the implementation of IPEZ planning and propose punitive measures for those that are operating ineffectively and causing environmental pollution.
The local authorities are responsible for improving organizational structure of IPEZ management agencies at all levels and diversify capital resources to develop infrastructure for IPEZs./.
