PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng confirmed that the Vietnamese Government will do its best to make use of aids and WB-funded development programs.
The Government leader stressed that, as a market economy and a WTO member, Vietnam is deepening its integration into the world economy. Over the past time, the Vietnam-WB cooperation has obtained many achievements in policy consulting, and poverty reduction, infrastructure development.
The PM pledged that Vietnam will promote its renovation, fight against corruption, administrative reforms in both institutional and procedure systems with a view to ensuring a sustainable and rapid economic growth along with social progress and equality. He expected that WB will continue to support Vietnam in the coming time.
In reply, Mr. Aja Chhibber affirmed to closely cooperate with the Vietnamese Government in consulting policies, funding projects and supporting Vietnam to become an average-income country by 2010. The new WB-Vietnam Director pledged to do his utmost to help fulfill Vietnam's goals.
