VN pledges to advocate ASEAN-China relations
VGP – Viet Nam pledges to continue boosting the relations between ASEAN and China, PM Nguyen Tan Dung told China Central Television (CCTV) during his visit to China to attend the 10th ASEAN-China Expo and 10th ASEAN-China Business and Investment Summit.

Over the past time, especially since the establishment of strategic partnership, the bilateral cooperation has been developing comprehensively with great achievements, noted the Government chief.
He went on to say that China has become one of the most dynamic, effective and comprehensive partners of ASEAN.
Both sides have become politically-trusted and economically-intertwined partners, which has positively contributed to the common goal of accelerating peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
As an active member of ASEAN and a neigh boring country of China, Viet Nam always attaches importance to consolidating the strategic partnership and cooperation between ASEAN and China.
In the time to come, Viet Nam will coordinate closely with ASEAN and China to step up ASEAN-China strategic partnership in a more comprehensive and sustainable manner.
Viet Nam will also work with China and ASEAN to promote the role of dialogue and consultation mechanisms at all levels in order to enhance political trust to pay the way for comprehensive advancement of ASEAN-China cooperation in all fields.
PM Dung said that both ASEAN and China need to beef up economic, trade and investment linkages in a bid to achieve the target of lifting the two-way trade turnover to US$500 billion by 2015.
He voiced Viet Nam’s support for studying the upgradation of ASEAN-China free trade area.
Regarding East Sea issue, both sides need to continue enhancing maritime security cooperation, fruitfully and fully realize the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and officially embark on negotiations for early conclusion of a Code of Conduct (COC) so as to better ensure peace, stability, maritime security and safety in the East Sea. All disputes must be settled through peaceful measures with respect to the international law, particuary the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
PM Dung expressed his belief that ASEAN-China strategic partnership as well as the bilateral relations between each ASEAN member with China will continue to flourish, positively contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region./.
