Meeting PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng this afternoon in Hà Nội, the visiting Thai FM Kasit Phirom briefed the outcomes of his talks with Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm.
The guest revealed that the entire preparatory work for the 14 th ASEAN Summit has been completed by Thailand.
He stressed that Thailand wants to further its cooperation with Việt Nam, not only within ASEAN but also on regional and international forums. The Thai Government will encourage its enterprises to do investment in Việt Nam, said Mr. Kasit Phirom.
PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that the ties between Việt Nam and Thailand are flourishing in all fields. He also pointed out some aspects for closer cooperation, such as agriculture, food, aquaculture, education, and national defense.
The host leader asserted that Việt Nam places importance on relations with Thailand which should be advanced to higher levels for the sake of the two nations and the development in the region and the world.

Earlier on the day, Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm had held talks with Mr. Kasit Phirom.
The two sides informed each other the situations in their respective country, discussed orientations and measures to deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the time to come.
Deputy PM, FM Khiêm and Thai FM Phirom expressed their pleasure at the fine development of the cooperative relations, particularly in the fields of economics, trade, investment, culture, education, healthcare, tourism, security and national defense. They were strongly convinced that such relations have contributed to the two countries' development as well as peace, stability and cooperation in Southeast Asia.
The two sides also agreed to early convene a Political Consultation between the two foreign ministries, resume the Trade Sub-committee’s meeting to speed up trade cooperation, and urge the two Ministries of Defense to sign cooperative agreements.
Thailand committed to creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Thailand, said Thai FM Kasit Phirom.
Highly valuing the role of ASEAN, the two FMs agreed to enhance cooperation with other ASEAN members to build up a prosperous ASEAN Community by 2015.
