| | | PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng delivers speech to the ASEAN-Korean CEO Summit, Jeju Island, Republic of Korea, May 31 – Photo: VGP | The Vietnamese PM said that, the presence of various enterprises reflects their deep interest in the development of trade cooperation and partnership for socio-economic development between ASEAN as a whole and every member-country and the Republic of Korea (RoK). After 20 years, the RoK has become an important economic partner of ASEAN. The total two-way trade turnover sharply increased from US $46 billion in 2004 to over US $90 billion in 2008. The two sides have inked many cooperation documents, including the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation 2005; Commodity Trade Agreement 2006 and the Service Trade Agreement 2007. The ASEAN-Korea Center (AKC) was officially inaugurated in March in order to step up investments, trade and tourism between the two sides.
