Agricultural machinery industry gets a boost
VGP – The PM has ratified an action plan to develop the agricultural machinery industry. The move aims to realize Viet Nam’s industrialization strategy within the Viet Nam-Japan cooperation framework by 2020 with a vision towards 2030.

The action plan targets to support the making of agriculture machines for farmers; encourage agricultural machinery producers to supply machines in favour of rice production and build regulations for agricultural machinery business.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) was assigned to craft basic orientations to promote the application of agriculture machines in rural areas.
The MARD shall work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to improve competence (equipment and training) at laboratories and verification centres.
Earlier, the Viet Nam-Japan cooperation framework by 2020 with a vision towards 2030 selected six fields of prioritized industries including electronics, agriculture machines; agro-fishery processing; ship-building; environment and energy saving; auxiliary production and spare parts./.
