Flood-hit farmers to receive financial assistance
VGP - Nearly US $1.5 million in Danish non-refundable aid left over from the Agriculture and Rural Development Sector Program Support (ARDSPS) in the 2007-2012 period will be used to assist rice growers hit by floods in 2011.
According to a decision by Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải, the money will be used to assist farmers in the Mekong provinces of An Giang, Đồng Tháp, Kiên Giang and Hậu Giang.
ARDSPS is to facilitate poverty reduction efforts in mountainous areas, especially among ethnic groups via sustainable agricultural and rural development.
