The project will be co-funded by the Governments of the UK, Australia and Denmark.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is responsible for finalizing and ratifying the related documents and work with relevant agencies to implement the project.
MARD reported that the national target project helped over 52 million people in rural areas, or 80% of the rural population, access to hygienic water between 2006 and 2010.
In the coming phase, the program will target to transfer appropriate technologies including salt treatment and sewage treatment in handicraft villages.
