Gov’t chief embarks on Hungarian tour
VGP –PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, his spouse and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation on Thursday evening arrived in Budapest, starting an official visit to the Republic of Hungary at the invitation of the host PM, Mr. Gordon Bajnai.

Việt Nam and Hungary established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950. Since 2003, Hungary has regarded Việt Nam as one of strategic partners in its ODA strategy. In recent years, the bilateral economic and commercial ties have recorded progresses. Especially, the two-way trade turnover stood at US $91.4 million in 2007 and US $113.4 million in 2008 respectively. The Vietnamese PM’s visit aims at strengthening the traditional relations between Việt Nam and Hungary in the context when the two sides are preparing for the 60 th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2010.
