Gov’t chief praises Japan’s development assistance

VGP – Viet Nam highly valued Japan’s official development assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam over the past 20 years.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement during his meeting with President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency Tanaka Akihiko in Tokyo on Friday.

The Government chief called on the Japanese Government to continue providing ODA for Viet Nam to support infrastructure development, climate change response, sustainable economic growth among others.

The Vietnamese Government pledges to effectively use Japan’s ODA and requests ministries and agencies to carry out ODA projects on time, PM Dung affirmed.

Mr. Tanaka Akihiko said that JICA will continue to effectively implement Japan-funded projects and coordinate with Vietnamese ministries and agencies to reform State-owned enterprises and deal with non-performing loans.
