Gov’t holds videoconference on development with localities
VGP – The Government is holding a videoconference with localities to deliberate on the National Assembly’s Resolution on 2013 socio-economic development targets and budget estimate, from December 25-26.

Three Steering Committees for Northwest, Central Highlands and Southwest Regions will also join the online discussion.
Under the Resolution, in 2013, the Government will still give high priority to consolidating macro-economic stability, reducing inflation, and maintaining high growth rate.
It will also accelerate the economic restructuring process, ensure social welfare, and improve diplomatic work and international integration.
The gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to expand at 5.5%, consumer price index around 8%, budget overspending under 4.8%, trade deficit 8%, export growth 10%, urban unemployment rate under 4%, according to the Resolution.
During the 2011-2015, Viet Nam sets the development goal of 6.5-7% and it can only be reached if the economy grows at 8-9% in 2014 and 2015.
This year, the GDP expanded at 5.03% compared to the preset target of 6%./.
