Gov’t okays WB-funded project
VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the Rural Energy Distribution Project, which is financed by the World Bank (WB).
The PM assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to carry out necessary procedures and approve the project as regulated.
The project will be launched at five electricity companies in the North, Central Region, the South, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The objective of the project is to improve the reliability and quality of medium voltage services to targeted retail electricity distribution systems through investment in rehabilitating and increasing the capacity of existing distribution lines and substations.
It will enable distribution systems to meet growing demand more efficiently, provide better quality and quantity of electric power for productive uses, and reduce power system losses.
