It is part of the Government’s effort to ensure that the poorest people can enjoy the Tết.
Accordingly, Cao Bằng will receive 500 tons of rice; Nghệ An, 9,000 tons; Quảng Ngãi, 800 tons; Lào Cai, 250 tons; and Hà Tĩnh 2,000 tons.
PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asked the these localities’ People’s Committees to provide rice to right beneficiaries.
Earlier in December 2011, Deputy PM Vũ Văn Ninh requested the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to review the lack of rice across the country during Tết.
