In its monthly February resolution, the Government requested the State Bank of Viet Nam to regulate the monetary policy in an active and flexible manner in combination with the fiscal and macro-economic policies in favour of economic growth; control credit growth and NPLs settlement.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment was assigned to work with relevant ministries and agencies to improve the business environment; raise national competitiveness; and enforce business and investment-related laws.

The Ministry of Finance will keep watching fluctuations of global oil prices; assess the impacts of FTAs for State budget balance; strive for higher budget collection; tighten budget spending and exercise thrift practice.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade was in charge of accelerating industrial production; exploiting crude oil in an appropriate manner amidst sharp falls of crude oil price; promoting export; and controling import.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was asked to work with relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to speed up the National target program on building of new rural areas; enhance aforestration and forest protection; prevent droughts in hot season.

The Ministry of Transport was tasked to ensure the quality of key and urgent projects.

Social welfare policies

The Government asked the Ministry of Education and Training to prepare for the 2016 national high-school graduation exam and the university entrance exam.

The Ministry of Health was assigned to inspect the enforcement of hygiene food regulations and prevent dangerous infectious diseases especially Zika virus.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism was in charge of working with local authorities to manage festivals and accelerate tourism promotion activities.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs continued to implement social welfare policies, especially the National target program on sustainable poverty reduction.

The Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Public Security were asked to pay heed to maintaining social order and traffic law compliance./.
