Kuwait wants to expand investment in VN

VNGOP - In a meeting with PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on April 7 in Hồ Chí Minh City, Kuwaiti Minister of Oil Muhammad al-Ulaym expressed his desire that Việt Nam will provide more favorable conditions for Kuwaiti enterprises to expand their investments.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng maintained that the signing of documents on the PetroVietnam-Kuwait cooperation proves initial achievements in economic cooperation and demonstrates great efforts made by the two Governments and business communities in realizing the agreements gained by Vietnamese and Kuwaiti leaders. The Vietnamese Government pledges to spare no efforts to early launch new projects, the PM said.
The Kuwaiti Minister of Oil stated that the inked project on oil and gas would provide valuable experience for enterprises of the two countries, pledging that Kuwait will work with the Vietnamese and Japanese partners to conclude the project.
In the coming time, apart from oil and gas, Kuwait expects Việt Nam to create favorable conditions for Kuwaiti enterprises to expand cooperation in other fields, such as mobile telephone and real estates.

After the meeting, PM Dũng and Minister Muhammad al-Ulaym witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish a joint-venture implementing the Nghi Sơn Oil Refinery Complex Project between PetroVietnam, Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), Idemitsu Kosan Company (IKC) and the Mitsui Chemical Incorporation (MCI), worth of US $6 billion. The project is expected to conclude in 2013, consuming 200,000 barrels per day.
