The Long Thành International Airport , which covers an area of 5,000 hectares, is located in Long Thành District, the Southern province of Đồng Nai, about 40km from HCM City and 43km from the Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport.

In the first phase to 2020, the airport will have two runways and be able to accommodate the largest passenger aircraft, including Airbus A380. By then, it will be able to handle 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo a year.

In the second phase that ends in 2030, the airport will have three runways and be capacity of handling 50 million passengers and 1.5 million tons of cargo a year.

In the third phase after 2030, the airport will have four runways and be able to serve 100 million passengers and handle five million tons of cargo a year.
