PM meets Malaysian Speaker of the House of Representatives

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on August 8 met with Malaysian Speaker of the House of Representatives Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin bin Haji Mulia on the occasion of his official visit to Malaysia.

The Government chief highly valued the active contributions of Malaysia during her ASEAN Chairmanship in 2015 and as the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the term 2015-2016.

Regarding the bilateral ties, including cooperation between the two Parties, Parliaments and the talks between with the host PM, PM Dung stressed that the establishment of the Strategic Partnership has manifested the outstanding development in the two sides’ relationship since they set up diplomatic ties in 1973. 

He proposed the Malaysian side to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to stabilize their lives in Malaysia.

The Malaysian Parliament advocates agreements reached by the two countries’ Governments, said the host lawmaker, adding that Malaysia will ensure the legitimate rights and benefits of the Vietnamese.

He will encourage Malaysian lawmakers to make more contributions to effectively realize the Strategic Partnership relations.

The two sides shared concerns over recent developments on the East Sea, which threaten regional peace, stability and cooperation.

The Malaysia Speaker said he expect to welcome National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung to attend the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) meeting in early September this year in Malaysia.
