Welcoming PM Nguyen Tan Dung, Ms. Irina Bokova regards his visit as a manifestation of a close relationship between the UNESCO and Viet Nam.

She appraised the concerns of the Vietnamese Government in enhancing the cooperation between Viet Nam and the UNESCO in all fields.

Viet Nam plays a crucial role in promoting knowledge and cooperation between UNESCO country members and makes great contribution to preserving and upholding cultural values in launching Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), especially in terms of education, sustainable development, environmental protection and climate change adaption, she said.

She congratulated Viet Nam for being elected to the UNESCO Executive Council in 2015-2019 for the fourth time.
