PM meets with Lao counterpart

VGP – As part of his working visit to Northern provinces of Laos, PM Nguyen Tan Dung met with his Lao counterpart Thongsing Thammavong on Friday.

The two PMs expressed their pleasure at the fine development of the relations between the two countries, particularly in such fields of economics, trade and investment.

Last year, the two-way trade value reached US$850 million, an increase of 17% against 2011. Viet Nam has poured some US$5.38 billion in 440 projects in Laos, making the former one of the neighboring country’s biggest investors.

Both sides affirmed to continue creating favorable conditions for business communities to foster cooperation. 

During the meeting, the two PMs also exchanged views on some regional and international issues of common concern./.
