PM Dũng also appraised Canada’s role as co-chair of G20 and thanked the North American country for inviting Việt Nam to attend the G20 Summit in June this year.

The Government chief noted that the bilateral ties between the two countries have undergone fine development during the past time.

The two-way trade value is expected to increase to US $2 billion in coming years. PM Dũng said he believed that Canada will be one of top foreign investors in Việt Nam.

He urged ministries of the two sides to actively negotiate and conclude an agreement on trade and investment protection, and to speed up joint projects.

The Vietnamese PM hoped that Ms. Deanna Horton would continue her contributions to bilateral traditional friendship and cooperation.

Canada will spur cooperation with the Southeast Asian country, particularly in education and training at local level, focusing on vocational training, said the Canadian diplomat.

The Government of Canada, as she said, encourages its enterprises to pursue social responsibilities when they do business in Việt Nam.

Ms. Deanna Horton extended congratulations to Việt Nam as the Chair of ASEAN in 2010, as proved in positive outcomes of the bloc’s bilateral and multilateral meetings.
