VN, India strengthen energy cooperation

VGP - On the sidelines of the 28th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM 28) in the Central Highlands city of Đà Lạt, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on July 22 received Mr. Murli Deora, Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The PM confirmed that the Government of Việt Nam will reinforce the bilateral strategic partnership and traditional friendship with India. He said their relations are developing finely in politics, diplomacy, economy, culture and education.

The PM said Việt Nam is encouraging Indian firms to expand investment and trade with Vietnamese partners, especially in energy development.

Mr. Deora highly appreciated the organization and results of AMEM 28 and expressed wish to foster cooperation with Việt Nam on energy in general, and petroleum in particular.

The Minister said Indian companies highly value Việt Nam’s increasingly favorable investment environment and want to engage in electricity and steel projects in the country.
