PM receives Google CEO

PM Dung spoke highly of the global brand name and its contributions to popularizing knowledge and improving the access to information and education for people around the world, as well as the development of each individual and each nation.

He affirmed that Viet Nam will create favorable conditions for large IT groups around the world, including Google, to invest and operate in the country while expressing his hope for further cooperation between Google and Vietnamese partners.

The host suggested Google work with relevant Vietnamese agencies to follow tax regulations on trans-border commercial activities and protect national security and sound cultural and ethical values of Viet Nam on the Internet.

Pichai valued Viet Nam’s development and potential in developing the IT sector, saying that the signing of the European Union-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement and the Trans- Pacific Partnership is posing great opportunities for Google to cooperate and expand its operation in Viet Nam.

He said that Google will carry out several projects to support Viet Nam in training around 1,400 IT engineers and experts, promoting the country’s image, helping medium and small-sized enterprises access the world market through e-commerce, and enhancing education and training.

Pichai expressed his belief that Viet Nam will be one of Google’s most important markets and committed to making more efforts to make further contributions to socio- economic development and the growth of the IT sector in Viet Nam.
