PM receives int’l guests
VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, this evening, August 26, separately received the visiting international guests to Việt Nam, namely Cambodia’s Senior Minister Var Kim Hong, Lao Deputy FM Pongsavath Boupha, Deputy US Trade Representative John Veroneau, and President of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Hakan Murby.

He believed that it will contribute to the realization of the Development Triangle Program as agreed by the PMs of the three countries. The host urged the three countries to complete the border demarcation and landmark planting soon in the spirit of friendly neighborhood, comradeship and brotherhood, so as to jointly build up and manage a common borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development. Addressing at the reception, both Senior Minister Var Kim Hong and Deputy FM Pongsavath Boupha agreed that the signing of the Treaty is a vivid evidence of the friendly neighborhood and mutual understanding among three nations. | | | PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng receives Deputy US Trade Representative John Veroneau - Photo: VGP | Lauding the working visit made by Deputy US Trade Representative John Veroneau, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng suggested Việt Nam and the US further speed up the negotiations for the signing of a bilateral investment treaty. He asked the US to consider and facilitate the import of Vietnamese agro-products into America as well as the abrogation of the supervision against Vietnamese textiles and apparels. Mr. John Veroneau pledged to work with the US relevant agencies in actively considering the host’s proposals. He expressed his hope to deepen commercial cooperation with Việt Nam and his confidence that the two countries would find out many new methods and programs to enhance trade and investment cooperation. | | | PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and ISO President Hakan Murby - Photo: VGP | Receiving ISO President Hakan Murby, PM Dũng stressed that Việt Nam is fully aware of quality standards for goods and services, especially exports. The Government chief briefed some difficulties faced by Việt Nam in registering ISO standards and asked ISO President Hakan Murby to support Việt Nam in this field. Mr. Hakan Murby revealed that, so far, ISO has issued about 17,000 international standards. He pointed out many benefits gained by enterprises, especially exporters, when participating in the ISO because their products will be guaranteed and certified under international standards.
