PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng made the statement while talking to provincial leaders at a refresher course on locally socio-economic development in the era of international economic integration, organized by the Ministry of Interiors on August 6-7 in Hà Nội, .

The PM highlighted that such course targets to provide more information to local leaders, so that they can direct and supervise the realization of socio-economic tasks more fruitfully, generating a high consensus among the whole political system to overcome the current difficulties and complete the set targets.

The PM noted that, to make the five-year plan successful and obtain the 2008 goal of around 7% GDP growth rate, the whole nation should mobilize its determination, great efforts, unanimity and solidarity in realizing the defined tasks.

He asked all localities to focus on drastically implementing some main tasks through specific solutions.

First of all, it is necessary to speed up administrative procedures reform to facilitate production, business and export.

The disbursement of State budget, Governmental bond, and investment capital of all economic sectors must be pushed to kick up economic growth.

In addition to this, anti-speculation, anti-trafficking and price control should be tightened while price of some goods should be gradually readjusted along a sound roadmap and in line with market rules.

Moreover, all the localities have to ensure social security and, as the PM emphasized, “take all appropriate measures to guarantee and raise people’s living standards.”

Mentioning the socio-economic development plan in 2009, PM Dũng asked all the localities to continue measures to curb inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, and guarantee social security and sustainable growth.
