Giving stronger rods to corruption

VGP - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asked the National Anti-Corruption Steering Committee (NACSC) to boost extensive and comprehensive solutions in the anti-corruption campaign, focusing on the effectiveness of information work and education.

Addressing the NACSC’s 7th meeting on July 18 in Hà Nội, PM Dũng praised positive results of the anti-corruption work in the first half of the year. These, said the PM, confirms political determination and capacity of the whole political system and the entire society to fight against corruption.

PM Dũng urged the competent agencies to timely discover and deal with corruption cases in line with laws. Besides, they need to closely work with newspapers and provide accurate information to the latter.

According to the NACSC, in the first six months of 2008, ministries, sectors and localities carried out 4,500 inspections, discovered and put to trials 517 cases with 1,242 internees for engaging in corruption and public property embezzlement.
