PM speaks to new Japanese counterpart on the phone

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government and people, PM Dung warmly congratulated Mr Shinzo Abe upon his election as the new PM of Japan.

PM Dung also appreciated the great contribution of the Japanese counterpart, when he was at different previous positions,  to the bilateral ties, particularly to the formation of the framework for the strategic partnership between the two countries.

PM Shinzo Abe extended his sincere thanks to the Government and people of Viet Nam, affirming that the Japanese Government attaches importance to enhancing relations with Viet Nam as a strategic, reliable partner in the region.

The two PMs expressed their pleasure at new developments of bilateral ties in all fields over the past years and agreed on specific measures to deepen the strategic partnership in the future.

They affirmed the importance of maintaining high-ranking visits, effectively deploy dialogue mechanism in various fields, including politics, security and national defense.

The two Government chiefs also agreed to boost the realization of signed agreements, especially in the fields of economics, trade, investment, and official development assistance.

Regional and international issues of common concern were included as part of the conversation.

Both sides agreed to closely coordinate in organizing activities during the Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Year 2013 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

PM Dung invited PM Shinzo Abe to visit Viet Nam at a proper time.
