PM welcomes Lord Mayor of London
VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng this afternoon hosted a reception to Mr. Ian Luder, Lord Mayor of the City of London Corporation, and leaders of some UK leading financial and banking companies who are on a working visit to Việt Nam.

He showed his pleasure at the positive development of the bilateral relations between Việt Nam and the UK on the basis of the Joint Statement 2008 on the “Partnership for Development”, with five pillars: politics-diplomacy, trade-investment, development cooperation, education-training, immigration and fighting against organized crimes. The host leader stressed that the economic cooperation between the two countries is continuing to develop, praising UK groups, such as BP, Rolls Royce, Prudential, HSBC, and Standard Chartered Bank, for expanding their business in Việt Nam. The PM reiterated that Việt Nam pays respect to and create best conditions for foreign investors, including those from the UK, to do business fruitfully here. Mr. Ian Luder confirmed his intention to deepen cooperation with Việt Nam’s financial and banking sector, especially investing in urban infrastructure in Việt Nam. Showing their admiration to Việt Nam’s economic development, representatives of the UK corporations hoped that the Vietnamese Government will offer more favorable conditions for their long-term operation in the country.
