After the official welcoming ceremony solemnly held at the Presidential Palace this afternoon, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng had talks to General Thein Sein.

The two PMs expressed their delight at good developments of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries over the past time. The host confirmed that Việt Nam always observes its consistent policy to attach importance to the bilateral ties with Myanmar.

PM Dũng stressed that Việt Nam was much interested in Myanmar’s recent situations and expected Myanmar to stabilize its domestic affairs for the sake of national construction and development, facilitating the cooperation between the two countries.
The Government chief also gave the guest Việt Nam’s experience in consolidating national solidarity and intergrating into the international community to protect, construct and develop the country.
The two leaders agreed to closely collaborate together in preparing the 6th Governmental Joint-committee in 2008 and the 3rd annual Political Consulting Meeting between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs to be held in Myanmar at the end of the year.
The two sides also mentioned some regional and international issues of common concern, including the upcoming 13th ASEAN Summit.
