At the meeting, the Cabinet members spent a lot of time to discuss the amended statutes for the Government’s performance in the orientations to clearly identify responsibilities of all and each Cabinet member. The Government’s working programs is also drafted and implemented through raising the role of the relevant competent ministries.
Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm and some Government members proposed online meetings be held more regularly in order to save time and money.
PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng agreed to amend the statutes for the performance of the Government, ministries, sectors and local authorities towards high effectiveness, transparency, powerfulness and modernization.
Concluding the meeting, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stressed that, in the last two months of 2007 and to lay foundation for the realization of tasks in 2008, it is necessary to strive for a growth rate of over 9 percent. Thus, all ministries, sectors and local authorities should drastically direct the management of prices under the market principles and the supply-demand rule, preventing the shortage of commodities.
The Government leader also highlighted other measures, namely accelerating administrative reforms; boosting investments in infrastructure construction; preventing epidemics; and promptly assisting natural disaster-hit people recover and stabilize their life. The PM proposed to re-check expenses made by the ministries as well as national projects and programs to promote the work of anti-corruption and prodigality prevention.
As a part of the agenda, the Cabinet members gave opinions to the National Assembly’s draft resolution on pre-tax profit reduction to found the Scientific and Technological Development Fund and the draft amendments to some articles in the Ordinance on dealing with administrative violations submitted by the ministries of Finance and Justice respectively./.
