VN, China strive for US $15 bil. of two-way trade by 2010
VNGOP – Aftering landing Nanning, the capital city of China’s Guangxi Province in the afternoon of October 27, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng had a meeting with Chinese Deputy PM Zeng Peiyan. The two leaders agreed to seek for effective solutions to maintain the growth of bilateral trade turnover which is expected to reach US $15 billion by 2010.

In the field of economy, trade and investment, it is necessary to seek for proper solutions in order to maintain the growth of bilateral trade turnover and obtain US $15 billion by 2010 as well as promote the trading of key goods, including electromechanical products, crude oil, coal, and rubber. The two sides should establish an interdisciplinary group to research new commodities and sign an agreement on animal and plant quarantine in order to facilitate export and import activities and improve the bilateral trade balance. The leaders also agreed to complete their five-year planning schemes to put into reality the agreement on promoting economic and commercial cooperation and the memorandum of understanding on “Two corridors, one economic belt”. Mentioning the border issues, the Vietnamese and Chinese leaders confirmed their efforts to finish the border demarcation and landmark planting as well as sign a new agreement on border management within 2008, building the Việt Nam-China borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
