Planning scheme for Phú Bài int’l airport
VGP- The Prime Minister has ratified the planning scheme for Phú Bài international airport (Thừa Thiên Huế province) in the period until 2020 with a vision to 2030.

As planned, the airport will be granted the 4E-grade license in 2020 so that during rush hours it can receive at least 20 aircraft such as A320/A321, Boeing 767, Boeing 777-200LR and can serve approximately five million travelers per year.
In 2030, the airport will be further upgraded to become a Grade II Military Airport which can receive 9 million travelers per year.
Runway No. 1 will be extended in 2020 with the measurements of 3,048m x 45m and the construction of Runway No. 2 will be completed in 2030.
The capacity of the parking lot is planned to carry 23 aircraft and up to 43 after the extension in 2030.
The total area of the international airport is 527 ha. The investment capital of VND 12,571 billion is mobilized from different sources, such as the State budget and private funds from businesses and individuals.
