VN, Thailand deepen and expand cooperation
VGP – Right after landing on Hua Hin in Southern Thailand, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng had a private encounter with the host PM Abhisit Vejjajiva on the sidelines of the 14th ASEAN Summit.
| | | Photo: VGP | In the meeting, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng affirmed Việt Nam’s consistent policy to consolidate and deepen cooperation with Thailand in order to benefit both countries. The host leader reiterated that Việt Nam is always an important partner of Thailand in the reion and within ASEAN and that Thailan wants to further promote its friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Việt Nam. The two PMs showed their pleasure at rapid developments of the traditional relationship between the two countries over the past time in all fields. They agreed to continue expanding the bilateral cooperation in the time to come, pledging to maintain and upgrade the existing cooperation mechanisms, enhance investments and trade; deepen cooperation in tourism, agriculture, labor, culture, education, security, joint patrol on the sea, and fighting against trans-national criminals. The two leaders also agreed to resume the meeting of the Commercial Subcommittee of the Việt Nam-Thailand Joint Committee and maintain the joint working team for politics and security. The two sides highly valued their recent close coordination at regional and international forums, including ASEAN, ARF, EAS, ASEM, APEC and the UN, vowing to continue cooperation in order to build the ASEAN Community by 2015.
