VN commits aid to New Zealand quake victims

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has agreed to provide US $50,000 of emergency aid to help New Zealand in its effort to surmount consequences of the recent earthquake in the city of Christchurch.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was assigned to work with the Ministry of Finance to finalize necessary administrative procedures for the delivery of the aid.

The 6.3-magnitude quake struck Christchurch city and caused severe damages of lives and property. The quake’s death toll rose to 145 with more than 200 missing. 

Earlier, the city was suffered from a 7.1-magnitude earthquake which destroyed hundreds of buildings with total loss of US $3 billion./.
