VN to strengthen ties with Saudi Arabia and Belarus

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on Wednesday said that Việt Nam is ready to set up strategic agriculture cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

Việt Nam always attaches importance to strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia, PM Dũng reiterated, saying that the bilateral ties have been advancing well during the past years, especially in the fields of trade and investment.

Two-way trade volume was estimated at US $700 million in 2010. Many Saudi enterprises are making profitable business operations in Việt Nam.

PM Dũng urged the two countries to exchange ways for effective cooperation models in agriculture.

He also called on the two sides to early sign agreements on mutual investment protection and free trade to broaden bilateral economic and investment cooperation.

The guests revealed that their visit to Việt Nam aims to expand cooperation with the Southeast Asian country, particularly in agriculture.

Saudi Arabia hopes to establish a close cooperative channel in agriculture with Việt Nam, said Saudi Minister of Agriculture  Fahad Bin Abdulrahman Balghanim.

Saudi Arabia also wants to expand cooperation to other areas like labor, energy and food processing, he added.

Speeding up VN-Belarus ties

Receiving Belarus’ newly-appointed Ambassador to Việt Nam Valery Sadokho on the same day, PM Dũng expressed his gratitude to Belarus for valuable assistance to Việt Nam in its national liberation and socio-economic development.

The Government chief confirmed Việt Nam’s consistent policy to consolidate and expand cooperation with Belarus in all aspects.

He believed that the Ambassador would spare no effort to beef up the relations between the two countries.
