VN treasures cooperative and friendly ties with Japan: PM
VGP - The Vietnamese Government and people always prioritize and attach importance to the development of friendly and cooperative relations with Japan, Vietnamese PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng said when meeting with the Japanese top legislators on Friday in Tokyo.
| | | PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and Japanese House of Representatives Speaker Yohei Kono - Photo: VGP | During separate meetings with Japanese House of Representatives Speaker Yohei Kono and President of the House of Councilors Satsuki Eda, PM Dũng, who is on a working visit to Japan for the 15th conference on “The Future of Asia”, proposed the Japanese parliament ratify the Việt Nam–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) so that the agreement will come into force shortly, creating a favorable, fair and equal environment for economic relations between the two countries. The two Japanese legislative leaders confirmed that they would try to speed up the process of the parliament’s approval soon. PM Dũng highly appreciated the Japanese parliament and government’s continuity to grant ODA to Việt Nam amid the Japanese economy facing many difficulties due to the global economic downturn. They also said Japan highly appreciates the role of Việt Nam in the region, and regards Việt Nam as Japan’s leading reliable and important partner in Asia. The Vietnamese and Japanese leaders highly spoke of the frequent exchange and cooperation between legislative bodies of the two countries. They expressed their gladness at great progress in the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in various fields such as politics, economics and culture. By Ngọc Vân |
