Vietnam Airlines absorbs budget carrier Jestar
VGP – The Prime Minister has decided to allow the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) to manage the State’s capital contribution to the low-cost airline carrier Jetstar Pacific in a bid to save the latter from bankruptcy.

The PM’s Decision 94/QĐ-TTg that came into force on January 16 stipulated that Vietnam Airlines will take charge the State capital, previously managed by the Corporation for Investment and Capital (SCIC), in Jestar Pacific.
VNA will also inherit rights and obligations as the State shareholder in Jestar Pacific and work with SCIC to resolve remaining issues with investors.
The Ministry of Transport was entrusted to instruct VNA to handle existing and emerging problems./.
