Mountainous North targets 8% growth rate by 2020
VGP – The PM has passed a master development plan for the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Area by 2020. Accordingly, the region would strive for 7.5% GDP growth rate in 2011-2015, over 8% in 2016-2020, and around US$2,000 GDP per capita.
Monitoring administrative procedures enhanced
VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has recently signed a Directive to ask ministries, agencies and localities to implement the Government’s Decree on monitoring administrative procedures.

Monthly minimum wage increases by 9.5%
VGP - Civil servants, members of the armed forces and socio-political organizations staff have enjoyed an increase of 9.5% their monthly minimum wage from July 1.
Enhancing capacity for tourism sector
VGP - The Government has agreed to receive one more million Euro freely funded by the Government of Luxembourg to finance the project on strengthening the capacity of human resources in the hotel and tourism sector in Viet Nam.
