Located in the central key economic zone, the coastal province of Quảng Nam, home of two world heritage sites, is a “promising land” for tourist projects. However, the province’s coast with 30 communes and wards remains in underdevelopment. The local infrastructure is very poor. To tap potentials of this area, in late 2007, the PM gave nod to a master project of 29 component projects, of which the Cửa Đại Bridge is the biggest.

The bridge will become a route of strategic significance for Quảng Nam and the central region because it forms an inter-regional transport corridor connecting Đà Nẵng City and the ancient town of Hội An with the eastern part of Quảng Nam and other key economic zones, such as Chu Lai and Dung Quất.

The work will also serve natural disaster prevention and rescue work in the coastal area.
