PM chairs videoconference with leaders of five provinces

VGP – Presiding over a videoconference on August 26, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, together with top leaders of five provinces of Bắc Kạn and Thái Bình (North), Quảng Trị and Ninh Thuận (Central), and Sóc Trăng (South), mainly discussed socio-economic situations in these localities in the first eight months and figured out solutions to the remaining issues in the rest of the year.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng lauded party committees, authorities and peoples of the five localities for their efforts to fulfill the socio-economic targets in the first eight months, especially by scoring high GDP growth rates: Bắc Kạn 7.68%, Thái Bình 12.5%, Quảng Trị 9.1%, Ninh Thuận 3.5%, and Sóc Trăng 5.46%.

The provinces were suggested by the PM to speed up the process of infrastructure construction, disburse investment capital on schedule, vigorously mobilize social resources, boost up agricultural production and services, ensure social security, eliminate poverty and proactively prevent natural disasters.

The Government chief also encouraged those localities to continue realizing the Government-initiated packages of solutions to maintain growth rates, stabilize macro-economy, ensure social security and prepare for upcoming party congresses at all levels.

The chairmen of the five provincial People’s Committees were asked to pay attention to the local realities in order to timely map out proper solutions to any rising problems.

The Government Office and relevant ministries were assigned to closely work with the local governments to address unsolved petitions which were raised at the working session.
