VPG – During his working visit to the northern mountainous province of Thái Nguyên on Saturday, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng inspected in person the Núi Pháo polymetallic ore project and made the decision to suspend this behind-schedule project.

The joint-venture project cannot be put into operation though over five years have passed behind schedule.

So far, only 56 among 3,000 households living in the project area have been resettled.

Thus, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng ordered the People’s Committee of Thái Nguyên to cancel the project and revoke the investment license.

Working with leaders of the local government on the same day, PM Dũng urged the province to continue restructuring its economy, speeding up the building of industrial parks and groups and tourism development.

The Government chief also required the local government and relevant ministries to accelerate the site clearance for the Hà Nội–Thái Nguyên Highway and some other infrastructure works.
