Showing his good impressions on Việt Nam, Senator Max Baucus said that he will convince the US congressmen and businesses to conduct fact-finding visits to Việt Nam. The Senator also vowed to do his best to step up cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies.

The US plans to strengthen ties with Asia-Pacific countries, including Việt Nam, said the Senator, remarking that the two sides should further nurture the current fine relationship.

Việt Nam always wants to befriend with all countries in the world, on the basis of respect for sovereignty, independence, and non-interference in internal affairs, stated the Vietnamese Government leader.

In term of economic cooperation, PM Dũng asked the US to remove supervision mechanism over Việt Nam's textiles and garments, offer Vietnamese businesses preferential regulations, and leave out discriminative policies against tra and basa catfish soon.

The US should be more active in assisting Việt Nam to address consequences of the war as it is a good way to bring the bilateral relationship closer and closer, stated the PM.

Both the host and the guest agreed that the two countries should build a long-term partnership for peace, stability and mutual benefits on the regional and global scale.

On the same day, at the meeting with UAE Ambassador to Việt Nam Ahmudali HamadAlmualla, PM Dũng spoke highly of the fine development of the bilateral ties, hoping that the two countries will push up cooperation in labor, vocational training, aviation and petroleum. At first, the two sides should work together to open a direct air route.

The Ambassador confirmed that he will spare no effort to intensify the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two sides, particularly in economy, trade, investment and labor.

With its favorable geopolitical position, the UAE will function as an effective bridge to connect Việt Nam with the Middle East and African countries, said the Ambassador.
