The Government on May 19 released Resolution 80/NQ-CP on orientations towards sustainable poverty reduction in the 2010-2020 period.

Under the Resolution, poor people will be given favorable conditions to gain access to various capital sources, make the best use of technological transfer, receive vocational training, and seek jobs.

In addition, the Government will continue to apply preferential housing policies for poor households in rural and mountainous areas, especially those having the elderly and children with disabilities.

The Government will provide incentives in terms of investment scale and interest rates for poor households in disadvantageous areas, grant scholarships to ethnic minority students, and implement projects to preserve ethnic minority groups, according to the Resolution./.
