In the strategy, the Government has set to increase the number of judicial support beneficiaries aware of their rights and learning related information and activities to at least 50% by 2015 and 80% by 2020.

During the 2016 – 2020 period, it is expected that 100% public servants working in offices handling people’s requests, and state administrative and procedural agencies will fully comprehend regulations on legal assistance and the people’s rights of being legally assisted.

Also in the period, some 70 – 80% visitors to competent State agencies will receive consultancy on issues related to legal assistance.

Moreover, the Government also targets to have judicial support clubs set up and operated regularly in 100% communes and towns.

To achieve the above targets, more investment will be given to human resource training so as to increase the contingent engaging in judicial support consultancy and provision to over 20,000, including 1,500 professional ones.

Judicial support for poor households and social policy beneficiaries reflects one of the key guidelines of the Party and State.

At present, the State judicial system groups the Department of Judicial Support under the Ministry of Justice and 63 centers under provincial Justice Departments.

The system has helped protect legitimate interests of over 1.4 million people and disseminated legal information to millions of others during the past 14 years since this type of support was introduced into Việt Nam.
