Health national target program passed
VGP – The Government chief has given a nod to the National Target Program on Health in the 2012-2015 period in a bid to set up a healthcare system for the community from central to local levels.

The program targets to prevent and respond actively to social diseases and dangerous epidemics; reduce the rates of infected and death cases and ensure social equality in healthcare for citizens.
The VND 12.7 trillion program aims to raise community awareness of early detection of cancers, high-blood pressure and diabetes.
Under the program, 90% of children under one year old will get vaccinated to combat eight types of diseases.
It also strives to cut 17.3% of deaths for under five-year-old children who suffer from severe malnutrition.
Especially, 100% of medical clinics in border and island areas will be upgraded.
The Ministry of Health is in charge of working with relevant ministries, agencies and localities to implement the program./.
