PM Dũng meets CPC General Secretary-President Hu Jintao

VGP – After his successful talks with Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng had a meeting with the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) General Secretary-President Hu Jintao on the same day, October 22, in Beijing.

The Chinese leader praised PM Dũng’s visit an important event and a vivid symbol of the strategic partnership between Việt Nam-China, which, the host said, reflects the importance placed by senior leaders of the two countries on promoting the bilateral relationship.

General Secretary-President Hu Jintao highly spoke of the talks between PM Dũng and Premier Wen Jiabao; lauded solutions agreed by the two PMs to put the strategic partnership and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties and two countries into reality.

PM Dũng underlined that the Vietnamese Party, Government and people always attach importance to and really want to cement and deepen the friendship with China.

The two leaders agreed that the completion of land border demarcation within 2008 is of political significance for the bilateral relationship, opening more new chances for the national development in their respective countries, especially in localities along the borderline, laying the foundation to build a borderline of peace, stability, friendship and long-term cooperation.

Mentioning the sea-related issues, the two sides pledged to seriously observe the agreements and common awareness reached by senior leaders, as well as the Code of Conduct within the East Sea. The leaders agreed to maintain the current mechanism of negotiation to find out acceptable fundamental and long-term solutions in order to keep peace, stability and bilateral multifaceted cooperation.
