Upon his arrival to Hainan, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his entourage visited the Yangpu Economic Development Zone, a hub of transport, an entrepot and an export processing center. The zone is also considered as the driving force to build up the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.

PM Dũng stated that, Hainan and Việt Nam, thanks to their geographical closeness, share many favorable conditions to cement and deepen their trade and economic ties. He valued the successful construction of the Yangpu Economic Development Zone as an important breakthrough in the development of commercial and economic exchange between China and Việt Nam as well as other ASEAN countries. Việt Nam wants to boost up cooperation with Hainan through the Yangpu Economic Development Zone and the Yangpu Port for mutual benefits, the Vietnamese PM said, suggesting the launching of cargo transporting routes between Yangpu to Vietnamese ports.

Sharing common territorial waters in the Gulf of Tonkin, Việt Nam and China in general or Hainan in particular own numerous opportunities . That China built up Hongkou District economic zone represents a turning point as well as important link to develop the economic ties between China with Việt Nam and ASEAN.

In the evening of the day, the Secretary of the Hainan Party Committee Wei Liucheng hosted a welcoming reception given to PM Dũng, his spouse and entourage.
